Remembering Some Bunnies

It's strange to say goodbye to bunnies when you sell a senior. We did just that on Friday when we sold Star, Jane and Peter to Mr. Roach of WV. He drove 5-6 hours to get some buns and we wish them well on their future in his breeding program. One day we hope to see their progeny at competition. Until then, we will miss their wonderful personalities.

Remembering Star: Star was my personal pick on our first trip to Dave Hall's place over in WV. She was beautiful and her name was chosen because I just knew that she would be my star producer. She was bread successfully twice this past year giving nice litters. We saved 1 doe and 3 bucks from her. She is a proven doe and should be a good starting doe to get into this breed.

Remembering Jane: Jane was one of the two junior does that we picked up from Laura Peele over in Needmore Pa. Jane was so soft and small when we first purchased her that she was a favorite to carry around and as she grew she still expected to be taken out daily and loved, walked or carried around the place. She really had a wonderful personality. She just turned 8 months so she hasn't proven her breeding ability to us. We wish her well.

Remembering Peter: Peter was picked up from Dave Hall on our second trip out to his place looking for breeding bucks. He was the younger of the two that we picked up. He has always been very curious and would "help" you open his door. He was a very "in your face" kind of guy, wanting to see what you were up to. Peter is now 6 months and will be available for breeding by this spring, plenty of time to feel at home in Mr. Roach's rabbitry.

We have fond memories of every bunny in our rabbitry. :) We look forward to seeing how well these do in their new home.
